Phoenix:  The Arizona Hockey Club, Inc. (AHC), the not-for-profit corporation that operates the Arizona Hockey Union (AHU) youth hockey association is proud to announce that the Western States Hockey League (WSHL) unanimously approved the transfer of the license previously maintained by the Phoenix Polar Bears, to AHC.  This license allows AHC to field and operate a Jr. A team, for the upcoming 2011-2012 season competing in the WSHL.  The new franchise will be called the Phoenix Knights, and will be operated as another team within AHC.  We are extremely pleased to be able to have this opportunity to further our mission of developing youth hockey in the Valley.  We are proud to now offer Mites to Junior, within the one program.

Roster spots are still available according to General Manager Tim Mouser.  The Phoenix Knights will be holding their Main Camp and tryouts August 26 -28 at the Polar Ice rink in Chandler, in preparation for their season opener against the Ogden Mustangs on September 16, 2011 in Ogden UT.

“I am very excited to be part of this new chapter of Jr. A hockey here in Phoenix”, said Coach Tom Helton.  “We look forward to offering local talent the opportunity to play Jr. A Hockey in Phoenix and to provide a path for them to move on to the next level”.

To register for tryouts or for more information contact Coach Tom Helton, 480-980-1977  or knightsjra@arizonahockeyunion.com. Stay tuned for more exciting Knights Jr. A  news on the Arizona Hockey Union website.
