Arizona is seeing an increased number of  Match Penalties for Rule 615 (c) which is Removal of Helmet during an Altercation.  We want to educate participants on the rule as USA Hockey has made recent increased sanctions in hopes of reducing concussions in the sport.

Removing your own helmet or that of an opponent in an altercation is now a MATCH penalty which carries with it a disciplinary hearing and possibly up to a 30 day suspension.  Each of these cases are reviewed by the AAHA Disciplinary Committee.
