2021 SKILLS & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

• ALL Players to skate in their associated birth year session
• Cash/Check/Credit Cards accepted at the door
• Punchcards $180 for 6 discounted sessions – can be purchased below - AND CAN BE USED FOR OTHER SIBLINGS!
• Drop-In Rate $35 per session (Mites - Bantam)
• Drop-In Rate $25 per session (Midgets) - FIRST 2 Goalies to Check In are FREE
• Check Club calendar for session times by age group
• Players are to bring a white and black jersey to all skates
• All TUESDAY sessions will begin with 20 minutes of power skating and edge control from AHU Power Skating Coach Holly Harrington
• Skills by Kurt Goar, AHU Coach-In-Chief and AHU Skills Coach Cody Gylling
• All Sessions will have Goalie Instruction
• Weekday skates will focus on both Individual and Team skills
• Weekend skates will carry a Full Ice and Competition theme
• Assistant Skills Coaches participating not limited to: John Hrabovsky, Alex Shupe, Evan Shupe, Lucas Lomax, Ashton Amaya Donnovan Mattfeldt.

  Intro to Mite Club Hockey: Skill sessions will be in a station format.
  Skating | Stickhandling and Puck Protection | Shooting | Passing
  3 x 3 | Small area games | Side ice | Half ice
  
  Squirt Birthyears 2011-2012
  Full ice focus: Introduction to full ice skating for the first-year squirts. Exercises will prepare for the upcoming tryout and season for incoming first year squirt age group
  Team Skills and Concepts: Position focused training
  Full ice maximum performance skills: Combining Skating, Passing, Puck Control and Shooting
  Small area games | Cross-Ice Games | Full-Ice Competition
  
  Peewee Birthyears 2009-2010
  Full ice maximum performance skills: Combining Skating, Passing, Puck Control and Shooting
  Offensive and Defensive Masterclass : Position-Focused Training | Intro to Deception
  Team Skills and Concepts : Breakouts | Regroups
  Introduction to body contact and angling skills
  Small area games | Cross-Ice Games | Full-Ice Competition

  Bantam Birthyears 2007-2008
  Body Checking and Angling: Understanding the fundamentals of proper body, stick positioning, checking and angling.
  Offensive and Defensive Masterclass : Position-Focused Training | Intro to Deception
  Full ice maximum performance dynamic exercises.
  Small area games | Cross-Ice Games | Full-Ice Competition
  Team Skills and Concepts : Breakouts | Regroups. 

  16U Midget Birthyears 2005-2006 | 18U Midget Birthyears 2003-2004

• Sessions will be 3 x 3 | 4 x 4 | 5 x 5 depending on the number of players in attendance
• The FIRST 2 GOALIES PRESENT that sign into the sessions are FREE – you must sign your self in and be present.  We will not permit others sign in for each-other.  This is first come!
• Reduced Session Pricing $25 per skate paid at the door
• Additional skates will be added based on attendance

Sessions dates April 6, 2021 - June 15, 2021.  The club calendar will be updated for dates and times SOON!.  All sessions at AZ Ice Gilbert.  All players welcome regardless of skill or affiliation.  Full gear is required.
