AHU Spring Development Dates Announced!

Punchards Now Available for Purchase

Want to keep up your conditioning in the off season, while having some fun?  The AHU Spring Development Program will do just that, and get players ready for the 2018-2019 team tryouts.   Sessions will take place on Wednesdays and Sundays at AZ Ice Gilbert and are open to all players regardless of playing affiliation.

Coaching of individual skills and team concepts for hockey players of all ages and skill levels.  Our focus will be on technique training on forward and backward stride, stopping, starting, turning, puck control, passing, and shooting. Positional play and game situational drills. The perfect environment to learn and understand while actually doing and discovering!

NOTE:  ALL PLAYERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SKATE IN THEIR AGE APPROPRIATE SESSIONS.  THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Wednesday Sessions
6:20-7:30pm – Mites
7:40-8:50pm – Squirt and Peewee
8:00-9:10pm – Bantam and Midgets

Sunday Sessions** Some time changes will occur due to ice availability - please check club calendar for exact times

9:40 - 10:50am - Mites
9:50-11:00am - Squirt and Peewee
11:10-12:20 pm Bantam and Midgets

Mites:  Basic Fundamentals: Power Skating/technique, stickhandling, passing, shooting and small area games.

Squirts and Peewees: Power Skating/technique, Stickhandling, passing, shooting, breakouts and Body contact introductions (angling defensively, angling skating with puck carrier).

Bantams and Midgets:  Power skating/technique, passing, shooting, stickhandling, breakouts, fore checking, zone entry options, checking techniques, offensive and defensive situation game play.

Goaltenders:  AHU goalie coaches will be out at all Wednesday sessions to work on goaltender skills On-ice goaltender training is designed to improve player’s agility, coordination, stance, technique and concentration. Emphasis is placed upon the proper technique for covering angles and the importance of correct position in the net.  Sunday will focus on game situations.

Punch cards are $150 for 6 sessions (discounted rate).  You will be able to purchase punchcards on line NOW.  Individual drop in skates are $30 per session payable at the door by cash, check or credit card.

Training starts Wednesday April 4th and runs through Sunday June 17th.  

No training Memorial Day Weekend or Mother's Day.
