2022 Thanksgiving Shootout Volunteers Needed!

By Knights 11/07/2022, 11:15am MST

AHU Families -

We have a record number of teams coming in for the Thanksgiving Shootout this year.  These tournaments are the Club's fundraisers as all proceeds get put back into the club.  We need your help to make them a success.

We have over 200 games to cover at various rinks in the Valley from Friday November 25, 2022 to Sunday November 27, 2022.

Shifts are for LIVE scoring during the game along side the official scorekeeper.  You can volunteer anywhere, including your child's games.

Any middle or high school students looking to get volunteer hours for honor societies and similar groups will have their hours signed off on by the tournament directors at the conclusion of the event.

Email us at if you need to have the tutorial sent to you.  Sessions are claimed first come first serve.

The link to DIBs is below.  We thank you in advance for making our events amazing that teams want to come back!

Player Spotlight: Karter Williams

By Knights 10/29/2022, 1:45pm MST

Karter Williams is a busy young man. This 16-year-old sophomore from Campo Verde H.S. keeps a schedule that would leave most begging for a break. An honor-roll student, an alternate captain on AHU 16U AA’s travel hockey team, and a member of both Campo Verde’s hockey and tennis teams.

But wait…there’s more. Karter is an accomplished musician. In 5th grade, Karter picked up the bass and hasn’t turned back. Karter is a member of Campo Verde’s School Orchestra as the principal bassist and earned “All Regional” and “All State” honors as “only” a freshman.

But wait…there’s STILL more. Karter is a member of the Phoenix Youth Symphony, whose members are exceptionally talented and dedicated young adult musicians selected through audition.

As a result of his dedication, determination, and commitment, Karter earned an invitation, alongside other Phoenix Youth Symphony members, to accompany and support Catalin Rotaru in an upcoming performance at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on November 6th. Catalin Rotaru is among the top-5 bass players on the planet. For those that only “speak hockey,” imagine being invited to play in a game with Connor McDavid!

Please join AHU in congratulating Karter on his accomplishments! This young man embodies the best of what AHU has to offer and serves as an inspiration to our athletes for his work on (and off) the ice.

To nominate an AHU player/coach/parent for recognition, please send a DM to AHU or reach AHU’s Social Media Coordinator through your team manager.
